The short version. Block Wreck! has no accounts and no sign-up, and it contains no analytics or product-measurement software. Your levels, stars, coins, lives, streak and settings are stored on your device.
The game shows optional rewarded ads supplied by Google AdMob. One appears only when you tap a button asking for it, nothing is ever locked behind watching one, and the Wreck Pass subscription removes them. Serving an ad means Google receives information about your device. Section 5 sets out exactly what, and how to say no.
Two other things leave your device. The first is what you send to Apple when you make a purchase or use Game Center. The second is your leaderboard entry: a score, a nickname the game generates for you, and a random identifier, published so that every player can be ranked against everyone else. There is still no account, we never learn your name or your email address, and you can take yourself off the board at any time from inside the game.
Block Wreck! (the "App" or the "Game") is a block puzzle game for iPhone published by Side Hat Ventures LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), 344 Grove St #4213, Jersey City, NJ 07302, United States.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the App and our website at www.blockwreck.com (the "Website," and together with the App, the "Services").
Block Wreck! does not ask you to create an account, and it does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information. There is nothing to sign up for.
The App saves your game state locally on your device using the standard iOS preferences store, in a container that belongs to the App. This information stays on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not transmitted to us. It includes:
| What is stored | Why |
|---|---|
| Level progress and stars | To remember which of the 200 levels you have cleared and how well |
| Lifetime score and rank | To drive your rank and the milestone track |
| Coin balance | To track the in-game currency you have earned or purchased |
| Lives and refill timer | To run the five-life system and its 30 minute regeneration |
| Owned power-ups | Fresh Tray, Extra Time, Lucky Tiles and Burst counts |
| Daily reward day, streak, and last played day | To run the 30 day reward cycle |
| Owned and equipped cosmetics | Themes and clear effects you have unlocked or bought |
| Wreck Pass season progress | Your tier on the season track and which rewards you have claimed |
| Wreck Vault balance | The coins the vault has collected while you play |
| Settings | Music, sound, haptics and notification preferences |
| One-time tips already seen | So a mechanic tip is only shown to you once |
| Install date and session count | Recorded locally when you first open the game and each time you open it; never transmitted |
| Your referral code and redemption state | To run the invite feature described below |
Deleting the App from your device deletes all of this. See Retention and deletion.
The App can generate a six character referral code that you may share with a friend. Codes are created and stored on your device. Copying your code places it on your device clipboard so you can paste it somewhere; the App never reads your clipboard.
The App ships with the technical ability to synchronize referral redemptions through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) public database, but this synchronization is switched off in the current version and no referral data is transmitted anywhere. If we enable it in a future version, the only thing stored would be a redemption record containing a referral code and an anonymous identifier for the redeeming installation. That record would contain no name, email address, or contact information, and it would be held in Apple's iCloud infrastructure associated with the App. We will update this policy before enabling that feature.
Block Wreck! has a global leaderboard so that a rank means the same thing for every player, including players who do not use Game Center. What it publishes about you is deliberately as close to nothing as a leaderboard can be.
| What is sent | Why |
|---|---|
| Your score on a board | To rank you. There are three boards: your best Endless run, your lifetime score, and the current week |
| A nickname | So a row on the board has something to call you. See below |
| A random identifier | To recognise your rows as yours next time, so you keep one row instead of gaining a new one every time you play |
| How long a run lasted | To spot scores that no human hand could have produced in the time, which is what keeps the board worth reading |
| An Apple DeviceCheck token, when your device can provide one | Apple provides this so that scores can be screened for coming from a real iPhone rather than a script. It does not identify you or your device to us |
That is the whole list. No name, no email address, no contact information, no advertising identifier, no location, and nothing about your device beyond the DeviceCheck token.
The App talks to the board when you open the game, when you return to it, and when a run ends. And a leaderboard is public by design: the nicknames and scores it ranks can be seen by anyone who opens the board. Your identifier is not part of the published standings.
You cannot type a name for the leaderboard, and that is deliberate. The game builds one for you by pairing words from its own vocabulary, giving a name such as "Molten Hammer 42". The same identifier always produces the same nickname, so your row stays recognisably yours, and because nothing you write is ever shown to another player, the board carries no user-generated content.
If you are signed in to Game Center, the board shows the Game Center nickname you already chose with Apple, since Apple moderates those. If that nickname does not pass our own word screen, we publish a generated name in its place rather than publishing it or rewriting it. Your score and your row are unaffected either way.
The identifier is created by the App the first time it contacts the board. It is a random string with no meaning outside Block Wreck!. It is not your Apple Account, not your device's identifier, and not the Advertising Identifier, and it cannot be used to recognise you in any other app or on any website. It is kept in your device's Keychain so your rank survives reinstalling the game, which also means it can follow you to a new device through iCloud Keychain.
If you are signed in to Game Center, we store a hash of the Game Center identifier Apple gives us instead, so that Apple's identifier itself never appears on the board.
The leaderboard runs on Google Firebase, specifically Cloud Functions, Firestore and Firebase Anonymous Authentication. Google acts as our service provider and processes this data on our instructions. The data is held in the United States. Google's role as a cloud provider is described in the Firebase privacy documentation.
The App itself contains no Firebase software development kit. It reaches the board with ordinary web requests, so the leaderboard adds nothing to the list of third-party software in the App set out in section 4.
You can remove yourself at any time, and you can stay off. In the game, open Options and turn off Appear on the Global Leaderboard. That erases your rows on all three boards, and while the toggle is off the App never contacts the board again: no identifier is created and nothing is sent. The rest of the game keeps working exactly as before, because your progress, coins and cosmetics never left your device.
Options also offers Remove Me From the Leaderboard, which erases your rows and the identifier tied to them while leaving the board switched on. Playing again after that puts you back on the board under a new identifier and a new nickname.
We want to be specific rather than vague here. The App contains exactly two third-party software development kits, both from Google and both there for advertising: the Google Mobile Ads SDK, and the User Messaging Platform SDK that runs the consent form. Both are described in section 5. There are no others. Concretely, Block Wreck! does not:
Audio in the game is generated and played entirely on your device. Nothing is recorded.
Block Wreck! shows rewarded video ads, and nothing else. An ad appears only after you tap a button asking for one, always in place of a purchase you were already trying to make with coins, such as reviving a run or refilling your lives. Nothing in the game is locked behind an ad: everything a reward offer can give you can also be earned by playing or bought with coins.
There is a limit of three reward offers per placement per day, so a bad run cannot become an evening of watching video. The Wreck Pass subscription removes ads entirely, and subscribers who still want the rewards can switch the offers back on in Options.
Ads come from Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or shown, Google receives information directly from your device, including:
For advertising, Google acts as an independent controller rather than as our service provider, and uses what it receives under its own policies. This is a different relationship from the one described in section 3, where Google hosts the leaderboard on our instructions. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's privacy policy.
What comes back to us is aggregated reporting only: impressions, completed views and revenue per placement. We do not receive a profile of you, and we have no way to connect any of that reporting to an individual player.
Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) is a resettable identifier that can be used to recognise your device across apps published by different companies. Block Wreck! asks for permission to use it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. We ask at the moment you take your first reward offer rather than at launch, so the question arrives when you can see what it is about.
If you decline, the Advertising Identifier is not used and no cross-app tracking takes place. You still get the reward, the ad still plays, and nothing in the game changes. The only difference is that the ad is less relevant and earns us less. You can change your answer at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Privacy and Security, then Tracking.
Separately, you can limit personalised advertising at Google's own level at adssettings.google.com.
Where local law requires consent before ads are served, a consent form appears the first time you open the game. It comes from Google's User Messaging Platform and it explains what you are being asked to agree to. No ad is requested until you have answered it.
You can change your answer at any time: open Options in the game and choose Ad Privacy Options. That row appears only where the choice applies to you, which is why players elsewhere will not see it.
Block Wreck! is rated 4+ and the ads are held to the same standard: we ask Google to serve nothing above a general audiences content rating in this App, which is the strictest setting AdMob offers. Ad content is ultimately selected by Google, so if you ever see something that does not belong in this game, tell us at the address in section 16 and we will report it.
The App supports Apple's SKAdNetwork, which lets an advertiser learn that an ad led to an app install without identifying you. Apple operates that system, and it does not use the Advertising Identifier.
Your answer to the consent form, and the count of how many reward offers you have taken today, are stored on your device in the App's own preferences. That is what stops the form being shown to you over and over.
Two optional parts of the game rely on services operated by Apple. When you use them, you are interacting with Apple, and Apple's privacy policy governs Apple's own handling of your information. You can read it at apple.com/legal/privacy.
If you buy coins, a Vault Key, a theme, a clear effect, the Essential Pack, or the Wreck Pass subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple Account. We never see or receive your payment card number, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. Apple provides the App with a transaction record that confirms a purchase was completed so the App can unlock what you bought. Apple separately provides us with aggregated, anonymized sales and download reports in App Store Connect, which do not identify individual customers.
The Wreck Pass is an auto-renewing subscription billed and renewed by Apple. You can manage or cancel it in your device settings under Subscriptions, or from the manage option in the game; either way you are dealing with Apple, and we receive only the same anonymous transaction confirmation as for any other purchase.
Game Center is optional. If you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the App submits your scores to Game Center leaderboards (lifetime, weekly and Endless) so you can compare them with other players. Apple operates Game Center, controls what other players can see (typically the nickname you have chosen with Apple, not your real name), and manages your Game Center identity, friends, and privacy settings. We do not receive your Apple Account email address.
Your scores also go to our own global leaderboard, described in section 3, whether or not you use Game Center. Game Center additionally provides the friends comparison and the alert when a friend passes you, neither of which we could rebuild without Apple's friend graph. To raise that alert, the App can wake briefly in the background and check the friends board; that check talks to Apple's Game Center service, not to us, and the notification it may show is created entirely on your device.
You can turn Game Center off, change what it shares, or sign out entirely in the Settings app under Game Center. The rest of Block Wreck! works normally without it, and you still appear on the global leaderboard under a generated nickname.
The Website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, and it runs no analytics, tag managers, advertising pixels, session recorders, or trackers.
blockwreck.web.best so the page can show it back to you. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your browsing data removes it.We collect very little from the App, so there is not much to describe. Information is used only to:
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we build no profile of you ourselves. The personalisation that happens inside an ad is done by Google, with what it receives directly from your device as described in section 5, and it stops if you decline the tracking prompt.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not disclose it to data brokers.
Advertising is the one place we do share. Where you have allowed tracking, the identifiers and device information Google receives with an ad request can be used to personalise ads across other companies' apps and websites. Under some laws, including California's, that counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we would rather say so plainly than lean on a technicality. Declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt stops it, and so does answering no on the consent form where one is shown.
Information is disclosed only in these situations:
Your game data lives on your device for as long as the App is installed. Deleting Block Wreck! from your device permanently deletes your game data, including level progress, coins, cosmetics and daily streak. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had a copy of your game data.
To manage or delete Game Center data, use the Game Center section of the iOS Settings app or contact Apple. To review or request a refund for a purchase, use Apple's Report a Problem page, since Apple is the merchant of record.
Your leaderboard rows stay stored until you remove them or we retire a board. The weekly board starts a fresh week every Monday: rows from earlier weeks stop being shown, though the stored rows remain until they are removed. A score held for review is kept in a private holding area and is never published. Removing yourself in the game, as described in section 3, deletes your rows and the identifier tied to them straight away. One small technical exception: a short-lived deletion marker, containing only the random identifier and nothing else, briefly remains so that a request already in flight cannot recreate a row you just deleted. It removes itself automatically within days.
Deleting the App does not take you off the leaderboard. The random identifier is held in your device's Keychain, which iOS keeps when an app is removed, so reinstalling puts you back on your existing row rather than making a new one. That is what stops one player from filling the board with abandoned rows. If you want to be off the board, use Remove Me From the Leaderboard in Options before deleting the App.
Website server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period consistent with normal operational and security practice.
The strongest privacy protection in Block Wreck! is structural: almost everything stays on your device, and the leaderboard is built to hold as little as a leaderboard can. What the board holds is a score, a generated nickname and a random identifier, none of which identifies you. Your game data is protected by the security of your own device, including your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS app sandboxing. Purchases and Game Center are protected by Apple's own security controls.
Leaderboard traffic is sent over HTTPS. The App cannot read or write the leaderboard database directly: every read and write passes through our own server code, which is what lets us reject scores that were not produced by playing the game.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Block Wreck! is a general audience puzzle game. It is not directed to children, it is not in the App Store's Kids Category, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. It has no chat, no social feed, and no way for players to contact one another inside the game. The global leaderboard shows only scores and generated nicknames: players cannot type a name, a message, or any other text that another player would see.
The game does show ads. They are rewarded videos a player chooses to watch, and we ask Google to serve nothing above a general audiences content rating, but they are third-party ads and they may be personalised for players who have allowed tracking. If you are a parent or guardian and would rather your child saw none at all, the Wreck Pass subscription removes them entirely, and declining the tracking prompt stops the personalisation.
The game does offer optional in-app purchases with real money. If you are a parent or guardian, we recommend using Apple's built-in controls, specifically Ask to Buy through Family Sharing, and Screen Time, where you can require a password for every purchase or disable in-app purchases entirely.
Game Center may have its own age requirements set by Apple. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in some way, contact us at the address in section 16 and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
In practice, because we do not maintain an account, a profile, or a copy of your game data, the only information we hold about you is your leaderboard row: a score, a generated nickname and a random identifier. Information Google receives for advertising is held by Google rather than by us, and section 5 links to Google's own controls for it. We have no way to connect that row to your name, your email address or your Apple Account, so if you email us a request we will usually be unable to locate anything relating to you, and we will tell you that plainly rather than asking you to supply identifying information we do not need.
The reliable way to exercise deletion is inside the game, where the App can prove which row is yours: open Options and choose Remove Me From the Leaderboard.
To make a request, email us at the address in section 16. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it.
We are based in the United States, and the Website is operated from the United States. The global leaderboard is hosted in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, the limited information described in this policy, including your leaderboard entry, is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Information Google receives for advertising may be processed by Google in the United States and in the other countries where Google operates. Those transfers are made by Google under its own safeguards, described in its privacy policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, in particular if we begin collecting any category of information we do not collect today, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy here before that change takes effect. Please review this page periodically.
